How much are mature japanese maples worth?
I have two mature Bloodgood Japanese Maple trees on my property, one is 25" in diameter and about 25-30 feet tall, the other is 6" in diameter and about 10 feet tall. What would be a fair asking price for these two trees?
$50 + $10 if you like... I know they go pretty high at nurseries/tree farms.
But whatever you feel it is worth to you is what you should ask...

That's about how much I'd sell them for though...
What do you think?
How to dig up a mature green japanese maple tree?
this tree must be moved. has 6 main branches. each about 3 inches in diameter. do I need to trim it good before taking it out:
how do I start? should I water a lot a day or 2 before digging?
do the roots go straight down or wide spread around the base?
what is success ratio?
If you are considering transplanting it with any degree of success you will have to wait and do it when it is dormant and while the ground is friable. Prepare the site where it is to go before attempting to move the tree. You mention it is a mature tree so it must be between 20-30ft. Are you sure you want to do it? The success rate isn't that high even if you bring in professionals with the correct equipment and I wouldn't recommend you doing it otherwise.
Why do you think school makes a Japanese 17 year old more mature than a US 17 old?
Knowledge and discipline do not necessarily make a person more mature.
They aren't. Some Japanese 17 year olds are much more immature than some 17 year olds from the US, and vice versa. Perhaps the Japanese education system makes Japanese teens more obedient than US teens, but obedience isn't maturity.
How would I say "mature" in Japanese?
In the context of mature stories, mature television, etc. (Not "mature" as in pornography, but "mature" as in dealing with serious subject matter and not being directed at guyren.)

Dictionaries are giving me "熟成した," but the examples in the definition seem to all be about mature plants and cheese and stuff, so I'm not sure if I can use that word in this context. I thought "大人っぽい" might work in opposition to "子供っぽい," but I feel like there should be a better word to use than that.
'大人向け(の) (otona muke (no))' is the exact adjective you are looking for. '子供向け(の)' is the antonym of it. 成人向け(の) is often used for pornography, although 成人 is the formal term of 大人. の (no) is often omitted.
Removing and Selling a Very Mature Japanese Maple?
Hey folks,

I've got a very mature Japanese Maple on my property. It's probably 15'-20' tall with a similar diameter and probably 20 or 30 years old (guessing). It's beautiful and I love it, but it's location is awful.

I hate to just cut it down and kill it and also wouldn't want to because it probably adds value to the property. I have heard though that they can be sold even in such a mature state. I guess a large excavator or something with a giant double scoop comes in and takes it right out of the ground. Then it's delivered to the buyer's location and planted.

So question...first off, is this true? Second, after delivery and removal, what kind of profit are we talking here? Anything?

Thanks
It is possible to buy very mature trees from specialist growers, but these have been grown in special porous bags, which contain the main roots and just let water and nutrients through. So when the nurseryman come to dig them up there's minimal root disturbance and the tree comes up with its roots neatly potted ready to transplant. I doubt very much if you could do this with such a large maple, as the roots will have spread as far round the tree as its own height, and would be badly damaged by digging them out. I certainly don't think anyone would be prepared to pay for it as its future would be so uncertain and the cost of hiring machinery and transport would be so great.
However, if you love the tree, want to keep the value it adds to the house, think that moving it is possible, and want to have a go, why not just try to move it to another place in your own garden? Do this in the Autumn, when it has dropped its leaves and is becoming dormant, prepare the new (large) hole beforehand so its not out of the ground for long, and of course find out the right way to dig it up and move it. If it doesn't work, you haven't lost anything, and nobody will come complaining to you that you sold them a dying tree.
Any Japanese Drama for older audience/mature audience?
Hi,
I'm looking for Japanese Dramas for an older age range of audience/mature audience. Something similar to Cupid No Itazura. I'm kind of tired of teen J drama. Thanks.
I know what you mean, sometimes they're a bit too much to watch especially when they're about the first love during high school. I think you'll like some of the ones I've mentioned.

Which countries/race do people's bodies mature much faster than others and whats the reason behind this?
I do know Japanese and Americans mature faster than other countries.Gosh, their 13 year olds can look like the 16-18s compared to the people in other countries with slower growth rates.Whats the reason behind this accelerated growth rate in other races? Other than different environment and way of life.
Europeans, middle Easterners and others under the category : Caucasians.
I always see a 13yr old who looks 19.
White people grow so fast.
Japanese maple..why are woodpeckers pecking it?
I have a mature japanese maple thats maybe 75 yrs old and I just noticed that local woodpeckers are pecking into what appears to be healthy cambium(its hard to see its 20ft up). This leads me to believe that there is some sort of insect infestation..I live in NW Ohio, and its been cold and snowy for a long time..anyone have any ideas?
They might be after insects under the bark, but it could also be yellow bellied sapsuckers drilling holes to get at the sweet maple sap. We have them do this to our maples here in NY, which is annoying and unsightly but normally doesn't really damage the trees.

Sapsuckers are passing through Ohio in March & April, so it's within the realm of possibility.
